Panama, June 21, 2023. Save the Children's Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, with the support of the Inter-American Press Association and the Gabo Foundation, is launching the third edition of the Save the Children Journalism Award for Latin America and the Caribbean. The award seeks to recognize and promote journalism that gives voice to children and adolescents in the region, placing their interests, situations, problems, and stories on the public agenda.

This third edition is open to journalistic works about the promotion, defense, and/or violation of the rights of children and adolescents in Latin America and the Caribbean that were published in a media outlet between September 16, 2023, and August 23, 2024.

Save the Children will award the best journalistic works that give a voice to children and adolescents in radio, television, digital, and print media. We invite you to submit your work and continue to disseminate stories that give visibility to the violation, defense, or promotion of the rights of children and adolescents in Latin America and the Caribbean".

Carlos Lauría, executive director of the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA), highlighted the importance of the award, saying:

"This award is a valuable initiative highlighting journalism's fundamental role in protecting and promoting the rights of children and adolescents. By giving visibility to their stories and realities, we inform and promote positive changes in our societies.
