The fight against hunger and the impact of climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean are urgent challenges, with children, adolescents, and their families the most affected. To make visible the challenges, perspectives, and solutions of children, adolescents, and their families in access to food in the face of climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean, we are pleased to announce the launch of Save the Children's Regional Photo Contest for Latin America and the Caribbean on Hunger and Climate Change.

This contest invites professional photographers who are freelancers or work in the media. The photos must be taken in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States of America with professional cameras and in high resolution.

A distinguished panel of judges composed of Victoria Ward, Save the Children's Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Lucía Zoro, Save the Children's Global Content Producer, and Ángela Ponce, renowned photojournalist and winner of a Sony award will evaluate the images received and select the 3 winning photographs.  

Victoria Ward, Save the Children's Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, says: 

 “This contest not only seeks to recognize photographic talent but also to raise awareness about the serious situation faced by children, adolescents, and their families in the region due to the combination of hunger and extreme climate change.  The selected images will be used to raise awareness and empower the voices of children, adolescents, and their families in decision-making to mitigate climate change in the region. We invite professional photographers to turn their lenses to this issue and participate in this contest.”
